Business law suits need to be initiated, defended and completed in a business-like manner. I start by looking not only at the odds of winning and the legal fees involved, but the cost to your business.

Litigation aw suits can take a lot out of a business. Loss of focus; employee and management time; and possible loss of reputation (law suits are public records) are but a few of the ways a law suit can cost a business valuable resources. The amount of time you and your employees will have to spend sifting through documents and attending meetings, depositions and a possible trial are often overlooked in assessing a case.

Also part of the assessment process should be an analysis of possible non-monetary business solutions. While two businesses may have reached an impasse over money, and see no way of resolving the gap without litigation, there are often business solutions that can bridge the money-gap.
